The narrative of our lives determines how we perceive the world around us.

Hi, my name is Poh Ling and my mission in counselling is to help individuals rediscover themselves when they get lost within their forest of narratives.

My philosophy is to listen with my heart and through empathy, create the space for you to speak without reservation and to foster growth and self agency at your own pace.

I am here to help you navigate through challenging terrains to reach a destination where gratitude thrives and peace prevails.

"How we interpret our own experiences gives rise to the narratives to which we then often dedicate our lives." Sharon Salzburg

Individual Counseling

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, unable to cope, stressed about relationships, experiencing insomnia from endless rumination or facing a general state of lethargy with no pleasure in daily activities, speaking with a Counsellor could help you to process and navigate through life that enables you to live optimally.

I've aided clients grappling with depression, stress, anxiety, negative automatic thoughts, cognitive distortions, childhood or family trauma, challenges adjusting to life changes like new jobs, increased responsibility, loss of loved ones, childbirth and postnatal blues; situations which hindered their ability to savor life fully.

Workplace Counseling

Should you face workplace challenges leading to feelings of helplessness and anxiety, impacting your social and family life, or find yourself trapped, burned out, yet unable to simply “walk away” due to commitments and responsibilities, any decision becomes tough to make. Walking away seems impossible, staying in it feels unbearable

Having worked in the corporate world for more than 3 decades, I have experience in helping clients to develop improved coping strategies when handling organizational changes, navigating office politics, or managing interactions with toxic individuals. This support can help reframe your perspectives to optimize your potential, redefine your identity and equip you with tools to manage your own well-being.

The engagement methodology

Each session is estimated at 60 minutes, either in-person or remote.

If you have financial constraints, we can work out payment plans together.

Please don’t let money stop you from seeking help.

Couple Counseling

If you and your partner/spouse are facing challenges arising from life development stages such as new career demands, a new addition to the family, issues with extended family (in-law), infidelity, communication breakdown, differing values in child-rearing, blended family dynamics, and more. These issues can create a divide that feels larger than both of you, leaving you uncertain about how to manage the situation any longer.

When you are on the verge of giving up but know there is a deep-seated desire to try harder, seeking counseling individually or together can offer a path to objectively understand each other’s perspectives and rediscover trust and love.

Rates:
In-person: S$200 per session (per couple)
Remote: S$160 per session (per couple)

About Me

I am often asked why I chose to be a counsellor as my second career. Why not do something easier? I’ve gone through some difficult terrains in my adult life and through therapy, I managed to navigate and emerged mentally stronger. My desire now is to be able to help others find that inner strength to deal with life’s challenges.

After graduation, my career involved working in multinational corporations in the human resource function across Asia Pacific. Doing this for three decades gave me real life as well as work experience and insights into fellow human beings' constant struggles with existential questions, ranging from “Why me” to “Is my life all about work” to “Where is the joy”? Yes, life can sometimes be unfair.

I am a qualified counsellor working on a value-based fee structure (it is flexible and transparent which gives you more control over what you can afford and when).
